FED 3 CAMERAS

FED-3(a)

This is a new model but keeps the old body from the Fed-2. It has a new short base rangefinder assembly with a new shutter. The shutter has speeds of B,500,250,125,60,15,8,4,2,1 and 30. The range finder cam now has its axis of rotation on the rewind side and diopter adjustment is made by rotating the view finder. The engraving is either the Single Cyrillic script " FED-3" or the dual engraving on export models with "MADE IN USSR" on the back. The eveready case for this camera has one snap and is made of brown leather with FED-3 (in Cyrillic Script letters) embossed in a large circle on the lens cover.

FED-3(b)

The camera was given a new flat top and a rapid film advance lever. The shoulder strap lugs were removed and a fixed film take up spool was added, except for export models which still had removable spools. These cameras have a strange fabric with a square pattern fabric. The last of these cameras had the serial number on the bottom. There are three variations as listed below:
1:"REVUE-3" engraving in two styles as sold by Quelle stores in West Germany.
2. 1967 model with "50 years of October"(see FED-4(b)) engraved on the top. This is an indirect reference to the Communist revoloution which took place in October 1917. This model has nylon cloth covering.
3. 1980 Moscow games engraving on the front.

The eveready case for this camera has one snap and is made of brown leather with FED-3 (in Cyrillic Script letters) embossed in a large circle on the lens cover or with a chrome ring in place of the circle.
