35mm Rangefinder Cameras

Four factories in the Soviet Union produced true production runs of rangefinder cameras. Two others produced prototypes. In 1934 FED started production of Leica II copies. This continued until 1941 when the factory was evacuated just in front of the advancing Nazis. Production recommenced at Fed and KMZ in 1948. Arsenal started to manufacture the Kiev (Contax copy) in 1947 and GOMZ manufactured the Leningrad in 1956.
